All dyed/pigmented fabrics will fade under UV exposure (sunlight) over time. We at Solace use resistant fabrics, but HI-VIS material will fade at a faster rate than normal fabrics under the same UV exposure. This is a normal thing of all HI-VIS fabrics and is not considered a manufacturer defect.
Wash & Care:-
Maintain your product in optimal condition (Textile gear - Jackets and Pants)
As motorcycle apparel differs from other sportswear, the washing and maintenance guidelines are also distinct. Just adhere to the steps below to keep your gear clean and ready for the next ride.
Important - Always refer to the washing and care label found inside your SOLACE gear before proceeding with any washing. If your gear consists of multiple layers (for example, a thermal liner), ensure to check the label on each layer. This set of instructions supersedes any other guidance provided.
- Remove all the protective armours and any interior liners. Note any L/R side markings and the orientation of the armour. Take special care not to damage the armours while removing them from the gear.
- Check the pockets for earplugs and other items, and then zip them closed. Also zip close the main and sleeve zippers.
- Loosen the dirt with a soft-bristled brush and diluted detergent. Now is also a good time to clean those nasty spots if any. Check for areas where dirt seems to be stuck.
- Immerse the jacket in a bucket of water and mix some mild liquid detergent. Let the dirt on the jacket get loose. Scrub it with a soft brush again till all the dirt washes away. Keep rinsing it with clean water. Hand washing textile gear is the safest option. We recommend using non-scented gentle liquid detergents or shampoos. Use lukewarm water for the washing process. NEVER use any fabric softeners.
- Textile apparels are best dried on a cloth hanger, in shade. This ensures the colour remains steadfast for years to come and the interior lining remains good. Want it to dry faster ? Point a fan at it. Do not tumble dry or wring the gear. Do not bleach or expose to direct sunlight.
- Once the gear is dry, it's time to put armour back into their pockets. Some of our gear comes with asymmetrical armours, please do check for L and R markings before putting the armours back in while taking care not to tear or damage them.
- Dry thoroughly before any long term storage.
