CL-Brakes brand born from Carbone Lorraine experience.
CL-Brakes Braking Motorcycle Division has its own R&D Department dedicated to motorcycle research. It simulates 2-wheel braking conditions nearest reality. Braking programs developed by our teams and top riders allow us to create simulation software that will reproduce with embarked systems of data acquisition to the greatest variety of braking conditions.
New brake pad compounds are created by our material engineers and tested on our in house dynamometer. Compounds are tested in real conditions, as well as before the validation.
We continuously implement improvements into our brake pads to make the product most adaptable to the needs of the modern motorcyclist.
Sintered metal technology
Two types of friction materials for motorcycle exist: sintered and organics.
Only sintered can meet all the demands of a modern motorcycle: powerful braking, no fading at extreme temperatures (take out: overheating), braking in water, mud and sand, no brake delay (take out: reaction) in cold temperatures. Sintered metal brake pads are made from powders. The friction compound contains at least 10 constituents (copper, bronze, iron, ceramics, graphite..) Each of these constituents has an essential part during the friction of the brake pad on the disc (comfort, noise, performance). Once melted, these components form the friction material. This mixture is then compressed in a mould that gives the final shape. The result is then placed on its metallic copper coloured back plate and put in a furnace at 900°C. This is the sintering process: the constituents of the compound are melting and strengthening the material and braze it on the support. The brake pad is then surface machined, quality checked and packaged.
CL-Brakes front brake pad set XBK5
Very high performance sintered metal brake pads designed for supersport bikes. Excellent grip for an extremely reacting braking. High performing braking in dry or wet weather.
What is included in the package:
The brake pads kit are sold in packs that containing the pads necessary to change the brakes on 1 caliper.
Motorcycles that are fitted with a double brake disc therefore need 2 sets of pads (therefore indicate 2 in the quantities to be purchased).
